Sidebar is broken

Valid for all versions of empower® enterprise und empower® professional.

Made in Office has identified a bug that causes unexpected sidebar behavior after a Microsoft Office update. Likewise, other fields and notifications within empower® may be moved or opened in a separate window.

If you are affected by this error, the following steps are required:

  1. Enable compatibility mode.This fixes the error for now.Open PowerPoint and navigate to File.


  2. In the sidebar at the bottom left you will find "Options".

  3. As soon as you click on it, a window opens with further options. Under General you will find "Optimize for compatibility".

  4. Restart PowerPoint
  5. Check if empower® slides updates are available through internal IT or the internal App Store. Please make note of the information on your version or ask for it. There should be at least version 7.9.0903 available. Install the update if available.
  6. If no such update is available, inform your internal contact for empower® about the error; they will then contact us at empower-support@madeinoffice.com and request an update.

 

Spaces symbols get deleted

There is a known bug that removes blanks when downloading a presentation on an affected PC.

Please Note: The spaces are only removed in the open presentation and not in the empower® library!

Please do not save the faulty file back to the library to prevent that the spaces are also removed in the library file. If you are affected by this error, proceed as follows:

  1. Do not overwrite the presentation in the library
  2. Check if empower® slides updates are available through internal IT or the internal App Store. Please make note of the version numbers or ask for them. There should be at least version 7.8.8511 available. Install the update if available.
  3. If no such update is available, inform your internal contacts on empower® slides about the error. They will then contact us at empower-support@madeinoffice.com and request an update.

STRG Z triggers too many undos

Valid for empower® charts (lower than version 7.1) and empower® professional in all versions.

Made in Office has identified a bug when using empower® slides professional combined with empower® charts. It causes an error that resets all steps when performing an undo action (Ctrl-Z).

 

If you are affected by this error, the following steps are required:

 

  1. Use the native PowerPoint Undo Button

  2. Check via your internal IT or the internal App Store, if an empower® charts update is available.Please make note the version number.There should be at least version 7.1.Install the update if available.
  3. If no such update is available, please inform your empower® charts/slides contact person. They can contact our support to schedule an update.

No content in the sidebar

Valid for all empower® slides versions

Made in Office has identified a bug that leads to an empty sidebar after an Office update.

If you are affected by this error, proceed as follows:

  1. Activate the compatibility mode. This fixes the error first. Open PowerPoint and navigate to File.

  2. Towards the bottom of the sidebar you will find Options

  4. Restart PowerPoint.
  5. Check via your internal IT and App Store if empower® slides updates are available. Make note of the version number or inquire at your IT department. A minimum version of 7.9.0903 should be available. Install the update if available.
  6. If this update is not available, please inform your internal empower® contact person. They will then contact us at empower-support@madeinoffice.com to request an update.
